The 1 million euros ($1.24 million) film marks Gilbert’s directorial debut after Hesitation earned her a BAFTA nomination for Best Short Film in 2008.

The drama about reawakening passion later in life follows an older, retired married couple and a younger couple on vacation who meet in Nimes. The older man (Fox) and younger woman (Dormer) develop a profound relationship in the story adapted from Gilbert’s short story in a collection that earned her a nomination for the Scott Prize earlier this year.

Eastenders star Paul Nicholls is known for his roles in Goodbye Charlie Bright, Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason, Daylight Robbery and Life Just Is.

Dormer is a familiar face on the small screen in HBO sensation Game of Thrones and The Tudors in addition to roles in Casanova,W.E., Captain America and Ron Howard’s upcoming Rush.

My Left Foot star and Oscar winner Brenda Fricker is also a recognizable face on screen after roles in Home Alone 2, A Time to Kill and Albert Nobbs.

BAFTA award-winner and Golden Globe nominee Fox recently played King George V in Madonna’s W.E. among other roles in Sherlock Holmes, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Sexy Beast.

A Long Way From Home is still seeking distribution for a release in 2013.

“It’s a small-budget film with magnificent actors,” producer Benski told The Hollywood Reporter. “It’s a movie that talks about love and a rebirth of passion with an original and touching point of view.” Plus, adds Benski: “The financing was quite particular since it comes from private French and Thai funds, and the post-production will be in the U.K.”
